ABSTRACT
The FRS is typically applied by underground Jacon Maxijet spraying machines with 9 m reach booms. This is due to their ready availability from the nearby underground operations located within the Cadia Valley province. More recently, however, a much longer 30 m boom spray unit has been utilised. The FRS mix consists of 40 MPa concrete with a dosage of 8 kg of macro-synthetic fibres per cubic metre of concrete. The macro-synthetic fibres were the 48 mm Barchip Shogun brand with a tensile strength of 550 MPa.
