ABSTRACT

In contrast to mechanized domains such as industrial manufacturing where activity processes are relatively more routine, healthcare comprises of cooperative tasks under variable time pressures, multidisciplinary roles and objectives, and a high requirement for effective communication (Xiao, Y., Hunter, W. A., Mackenzie, C. F., & Jefferies, N. J., 1996). In other words, healthcare activities are very much team and collaboration driven. Therefore, systems designers must carefully consider socio-technical requirements in order to produce effective and adoptable systems.
