ABSTRACT

It may be difficult to repair all the deteriorated facilities in a short period because of budget capping. Considering this situation, there is a need for an efficient and effective maintenance strategy to decrease the cost for repair as well as maximizing the value of the facilities. A maintenance strategy determining the prioritization procedure of repair based on only deterioration condition has been usually used. However, when there is budget capping, some deteriorated structures may be left as they are, which eventually produces no benefits. This paper focuses on how to set repair prioritization for a group of structures with many considering parameters including deterioration grade, deterioration speed, benefit and expected repair cost of each structure, and budget capping. A group of mooring facilities are investigated here as a model case and sensitivity analysis is made among considering parameters.
