ABSTRACT

At the building checks according to DIN 1076 there is an increased need after meaningful test methods for external tendons and stay cables with high informative value. In order to assess the current status of the external tendons and stay cables, various non-destructive and minor-destructive testing methods are available. However, the processes are so time consuming and not expressive enough that a routine use is not economically feasible. Routine measurement cannot primarily have the aim to determinate the absolute change in the prestressing load based on the original state. The measurement should rather deliver clear indicators that the state of the external tendon or stay cable is within or beyond a tolerance range. Therefore, a quick test was developed, in which the existing eigenfrequency of the respective measurement section is determined, and standardized to the initial measurement of the section. This allows that all the tendons or stay cables can be compared with each other.
