ABSTRACT
444Biotic stresses are the conspicuous inhibitions for realizing the attainable productivity in wheat. The diseases like leaf and stem rusts are potentially most dreadful when the variety is susceptible and conditions are favorable for their development. Foliar blight and black point occur in punctuated pockets. The wheat produced in Gujarat state is totally free from Karnal bunt which is an important disease from sanitary and phyto-sanitary (SPS) point of view in international wheat grain trade. This chapter deals with the status of important diseases of wheat in Gujarat state of central zone of India, their symptomatology, epidemiology, and management.
