ABSTRACT

This work focus on the analysis of different air-coupled GPR systems for pavement thickness measurements. An air-coupled system with two sets of antennas (central frequencies of 1.0 GHz and 1.8 GHz) was employed in the tests. Different methodologies for data acquisition (static and dynamic mode) were considered to characterize the asphalt layer of a test site with variable pavement solutions. Research activities have been carried out during a Short Term Scientific Mission funded by the COST Action TU1208. The main results obtained within this study are presented in this paper.
