ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: A wood-concrete composite deck (WCCD) element is investigated, where wooden beams are subjected to compression and the concrete slab is subjected to tension. The motives for this unusual setup, with concrete on the lower and wood on the upper side, are the better fire-resistance of the deck system in wooden buildings, which does not have to be covered additionally, and the potential of integrating thermo active elements and other installations. The goal is the maximization of prefabrication and the shortening of the set-up time.
