ABSTRACT
Equipment issues are inseparable from training issues. Training issues are inseparable from practice. In real estate, the most important three things to know about a piece of property are location, location, and location. In underwater investigation, the most important three things to know about recovery operations and equipment are practice, practice, and practice. Many teams historically began with the basic recreational package, which is understandable in light of the fact that most dive teams had their genesis among those within the agency who were recreational divers. The wet suit has drawbacks as a choice of diver dress in its inability to provide sufficient warmth and in its inability to protect the diver from contaminated water that may contain chemicals that break down the neoprene of the wet suit to the point of rendering it useless. A number of dry suits are being marketed that are to be worn without the use of insulated undergarments.
