ABSTRACT

Regarding my education, I studied law in Mexico City and then criminology at the University of Buenos Aires (Universidad de Buenos Aires) and at the University of Law and Penal Enforcement of Salamanca (Universidad de Derecho de Ejecución Penal en Salamanca). When I came back to Mexico and started working at the penitentiary system, I started doing tests of personality with delinquents, and I got passionate about it; I felt I was doing what I wanted to do. e positions I held a‡erward were more administrative or political, and that made me leave behind what was really of interest to me: criminal behavior. Actually, all the promotions that I had were unexpected; I thought I was going to remain studying criminal behavior and did not have in mind to hold administrative and political positions. Nevertheless, I was happy in those positions too.
