ABSTRACT

In this article an overview of ergonomic aspects of work environment such as anthropometric, physiological, biomechanical, psychophysical, hygiene requirements is presented as they are the basis for effective and safety cooperation between an operator and means of work. Furthermore, workplace ergonomic intervention research is provided and its benefits are highlighted. Then, the ergonomic intervention plan for machine operators is developed on the basis of the analysis of nine job positions. For this purpose, the risks for machine operators in different areas of ergonomic requirements together with their sources and possible consequences are presented. On the basis of them, actions, which the employer should take to ensure workers safe and ergonomic working conditions, are specified. In the last part of the paper the practical benefits thanks to development of the intervention plan for machine operators are discussed.
