ABSTRACT

On February 4, 2000, the Los Angeles City Attorney sought an injunction against the Venice 13 gang that claimed a territory in the Venice Oakwood area of Los Angeles, specifically Rose Avenue to the north, Venice Boulevard to the south, Pacific Avenue to the west, and Walgrove Avenue to the east; a second area encompassed Venice Boulevard to the north, Washington Boulevard to the south, Lincoln Boulevard to the west, and Centinela Avenue to the east (Figure 13.1). The injunction sued the gang as an association and named 29 defendants as well. The Venice 13 gang had 293 total members.
