ABSTRACT

X-ray diffraction microscopy is high-contrast X-ray imaging utilizing coherent X-ray diffraction. It is especially useful for observing internal structures of thick objects, such as cells or cell organelles, owing to the high penetrating power of X-rays. This chapter describes the basics of X-ray diffraction microscopy and its biological applications.
