ABSTRACT

Osteoarthritis (OA) is an age-related progressive joint disease. The symptoms of OA are often associated with signi—cant functional impairment, symptoms of in–ammation, including pain, stiffness, and loss of mobility, disability and diminished activity in daily life, and diminished overall quality of life for OA patients (Felson, 2003; Felson, 2006; Goldring and Goldring, 2007). There are no current interventions proven to restore cartilage or curtail the disease processes, and OA ultimately results in joint destruction, chronic pain, disability, and other associated conditions
