ABSTRACT

Modern trends to the social structure formation of a village were largely defined by the occurred socio-economic transformation of the Russian society. Most of the consequences of these changes together with the agrarian reform in the country set aside a significant imprint on the social differentiation processes in the rural society. On the one hand, there were massive upheaval and transformation mechanisms and regulators, which have shaped the social structure. On the other hand, the nature of its basic components such as groups and communities has undergone a change. Against this background, forming a complex structure of a village is characterized by the variability of social and economic processes, development of multiple forms of ownership, and significant changes in the field of power relations and structures. Growing polarization within different status groups has increased the need for the analysis of the phenomena in the dynamics.
