ABSTRACT
The specimens used for the accelerated corrosion test are welded and the carbon steel only samples. The welded specimens contain stainless steel and carbon steel. The stainless steels considered in this study are austenitic (type-304, type-316 and type-304 N2) and duplex (S31803 for ASTM). The carbon steels considered are SM400, SM490Y and SM570 for JIS. In addition, the carbon steels used to weld to the stainless steels correspond to the following: type-304, type-316 and SM400, type304 N2 and SM490Y, S31380 and SM570. Table 1 and Table 2 define the chemical components and mechanical properties of these materials.
