ABSTRACT
IT networks are evolving rapidly and have shown many new characteristics and are expected to support multiple emerging services. A variety of challenges in networks mean existing management approaches have to improve to match the new challenges and requirements. The techniques update so quickly that lots of new concepts and techniques bring confusions and challenges to users, even for professionals. This entry provides the overview of evolutions in network management and a deeper insight into network management, and provides a wide coverage of key technologies in network management including network management architectures and protocols, theories and techniques, the management of emerging networks, and autonomic and self-management, and related standard.
