ABSTRACT

According to ISO Guide 73 (2009) communication and consultation are continuous and iterative processes that an organization conducts in order to provide or share information, and to engage in dialogue with stakeholders with regard to risk management. The authors Arocena and Núñez (2009) and Torp and Grøgaard (2009) also report that the legislative compliance influences the implementation and improvement of OHSMS. The consultation of workers on OHS in Portugal must be made in written form once a year, covering the content of all the paragraphs contained in section 1 of art. 18 of Law No. 102/2009 of 10 September, amended by Law No. 3/2014, of 28 January, as there is the assumption that it is the employer’s obligation to take appropriate measures to carry out the activities listed in article 18.
